Bio
Erwin Soto has built a diverse and successful coaching career, demonstrating a strong commitment to developing athletes across multiple sports. His journey began as a volunteer volleyball coach at Chemeketa Community College from 2020 to 2022, and he continued in a similar role at Clackamas Community College from 2022 to 2023. During this time, he also served as the Assistant Head Coach at Cascade High School, where he achieved notable success, including a 4A State Championship in 2021, a runner-up finish in 2022, and a third-place finish in 2023, amassing an impressive record of 58-14.
In addition to his high school coaching roles, Erwin contributed to the USA Volleyball High Performance program as a volunteer from 2020 to 2022, further honing his skills and expanding his impact on the sport. His coaching career also includes a stint as the Head Coach for volleyball at Blanchet Catholic from 2014 to 2017, and he led the tennis program there from 2013 to 2020. Erwin's coaching versatility is evident in his experience as a tennis assistant at Central High School and as a volunteer soccer coach from 2010 to 2013. He has also been actively involved in club volleyball coaching from 2014 to 2024.
Erwin's personal experience as a player complements his coaching career. He has been an active AA Indoor Adult player since 2009, specializing as a setter. His playing accolades include a first-place finish in Silver at the Men's Interregional Championships in 2022 and a first-place finish in Bronze at the Spokane Sizzler in 2017.
Erwin's coaching philosophy centers on the power of growth and development, emphasizing hard work, resilience, and teamwork. He is passionate about helping athletes realize their potential and develop life skills that extend beyond the field. Through coaching, Erwin aims to make a positive impact, guiding individuals toward achieving their goals and building confidence for future success.
