Bio

Jeff Williams is the head coach of the men's basketball team, currently in his fourth season in this role. Under his leadership, his teams gain the benifit of playing for a coach who has experienced success at every stop.  The team has achieved notable individual honors, highlighted by having the 2024 Southern Region Defensive Player of the Year.

Before becoming head coach, Williams served as an assistant coach at Chemeketa Community College from 2008 to 2022, where he helped the program amassing 251 wins and a 60% overall winning percentage. His tenure included significant accomplishments such as coaching multiple all-region players, including the 2013 NWAC Player of the Year, winning the 2013 NWAC Championship, and securing Southern Region Championships in 2010 and 2013. Williams also helped lead the team to ten NWAC post-season appearances.

Williams' playing career was marked by tremendous success at various stops, including recieving a Division I scholarship to play at Montana State.  As a collegiate player he helped his teams win 91 games in his four-year career. He played for Southern Oregon University from 2004 to 2006, achieving a 70% overall winning percentage and participating in two NAIA National Tournaments. At the College of Southern Idaho during the 2003-2004 season, his team won 81% of their contests. In the 2001-2002 season at Montana State the team was the Big Sky Conference Regular Season Champions and won 67% of their contest that year.

His high school career at North Salem High School was distinguished by multiple Division 1 scholarship offers, a McDonald's All American nomination, and an average of 18 points and 10 rebounds per game. He was team captain in 2000 and 2001 and made the honor roll in 2001.

Williams is dedicated to giving back to the Salem community, which he credits for guiding him and providing life-changing experiences through basketball. He feels privileged to contribute to the development of Chemeketa's student athletes and the next generation of basketball players.
