Storm Stunned in Second Half Surge by Mt Hood
Horne Grabs 12 Boards and Imhoff Drops 14, but Storm Fall to Mt. Hood
SALEM, Ore. – In a tale of two halves at the Storm Center, the Chemeketa Storm (6-11, 1-3) were unable to maintain their early momentum, falling 68-57 to the Mt Hood Saints (8-9, 1-4) on Saturday afternoon. Despite a gritty defensive start that saw the Storm leading at the break, a scoring explosion from the Saints in the final 20 minutes proved too much to overcome.
A Strong Start Fizzles
The Storm opened the game with defensive intensity, holding Mt Hood to just 22 points in the first half. Chemeketa headed into the locker room with a 26-22 lead, fueled by efficient free-throw shooting and a dominant presence on the glass from Spencer Horne, who finished the game with a massive 12 rebounds.
However, the second half told a different story. Mt Hood found their offensive rhythm, pouring in 46 points after the intermission. The Saints were led by Leyton Nield, who tallied 20 points, and a disruptive defensive performance by Carson Reilley, whose 9 steals consistently broke the Storm's offensive flow.
